Illustrated Friday: Little Vampire

Vampire week trots along, and this week's Illustrated Friday is in keeping with the theme. Little Vampire is an extremely well-done middle grade graphic novel that details the adventures that a small vampire has when he decides he would, among other things, like to go school and to make friends. The detail in the illustrations is fantastic- so funky and creepy and funny at the same time! Check out the sample page and tell me you're not curious about the rest of the book.

That is creepy! But also very cute. It's a strange mix, but somehow is works very well. I love it!

I teach 6th grade and my students are really into "emo" style (which is not exactly what I thought emo was). It's kind of a mix of goth, angst, and cutesy. I think they'd love that book.
