Illustrated Friday: Alphabeasties

When two graphic artists work together to create a book that's simultaneously about type sets, animals, and words that start with each letter of the alphabet, the result is
Alphabeasties: And Other Amazing Types. This book isn't a story book, instead it uses each letter of the alphabet and uses that letter in a variety of type sets to create an animal that starts with that letter (like the alligator and the zebra on the cover.) There are flaps to lift, other words at the bottom of the page to illustrate the sound each letter makes, and supplemental text to enhance the image. This book is one to experience as well as read, and there's a nice introduction to the book that explains the whole concept. Happy Friday!
