Review Policy

Review Information
If you are an author or publisher interested in having a review of your book posted on What Book is That?, please email me at whatbookisthat AT gmail DOT com.  All submissions are considered on a case by case basis. Please note that I am focusing on reviewing my currently accepted titles and will let you know when I am accepting new ones for review. I appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I review books in the following genres:
Paranormal romance
Urban fantasy
Mystery
Young adult
Illustrated books
Fantasy
Romantic Suspense
Thriller
Historical
Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic
Illustrated Books

I will not review books in the following genres:
Memoirs
Self-Help
Religious Nonfiction
Politics

Effective 11/6/11, if you do not put the synopsis of your book in the query, it will be deleted.  Thank you for your understanding.

I accept review books from traditional publishers, indie publishers, and self-published works, provided they meet the other criteria outlined in this Policy.  I will accept print review books or digital review copies. Sending me a review copy, whether print or electronic, does not guarantee a review.

I may post reviews to Paperback Swap, Twitter, Goodreads, or any other venue of my choosing. If you would like your review posted to a specific venue please let me know.

If you send a book in advance of the publication date, I will not publish a review prior to one month before the publication date.  This is to give me time to adequately read and review your book and to make references to your book in a timely manner.

If a book is selected for review, the following components are included as a part of the review process:
-Upon receiving a query for a review, if the book is being accepted I will respond to the email to discuss review copy format and to schedule a review date. If you have an upcoming tour, promotion, or other event that you would like the review to be a part of, please indicate that at this time.  Otherwise review slots will be filled on a first come first served basis.
-The book will be read and reviewed by the review date we agree upon unless other arrangements are made.  A courtesy copy of the review will be sent to you via email no later than the posting date of the review for your records.

Sending me a review copy of a book does not guarantee a positive review, but then, you knew that.

With that said, I am always excited to work with authors, publishers, or publicity representatives, so email away and let's work something out!

General Whatnot
All content reflects the personal opinion of its author.  Credit is given where credit is due as much as possible.  If something posted here is yours and your name is somehow not attached to it, email me and I will rectify the situation as soon as possible.

I review books honestly- if I like it, I like it, and if I don't, I don't.  Please keep this in mind when reading my reviews and/or submitting titles for review.

I read every comment that's posted to this blog.  Inappropriate or irrelevant comments (spam) will be deleted.

These terms are subject to change with or without notice, blah blah blah let's just get on with it and read some good books.
